Our 100th Day of School Creations

The students were asked to use 100 items to create something to celebrate the 100th day of school. They presented their very creative projects. They wrote a paragraph about their creation, edited their work with the teacher, then typed it out using IPads.

Creating Love Bugs with the JK/SK class!

Our class did a wonderful job helping our JK/SK friends from Ms. Douglas' class make Love Bug cards.

Problem Solving - Elapsed Time

Students were given the following question and in pairs they had to solve the problem, show their work and explain how they got the answer. Each pair got the right answer but they used different strategies to get there. The students are becoming excellent problem solvers!

"If you woke up at 7:30am and it takes you 25 minutes to wash and get dressed, 10 minutes to eat your breakfast, 5 minutes to brush your teeth, 5 minutes to get your backpack ready and 20 minutes to get to school, will you be at school by 8:45am?"

We always consolidate our learning by sharing our strategies for finding the answer. This allows for students to learn from each other as well.
